Frequently Asked Questions
Look here for the answers to some of the most asked questions.

  • What is the difference between OE, Custom and Universal Spoilers.
A "custom style" spoiler is designed to specifically fit a particular vehicle. While it is not designed to look like the spoiler available from the factory, it will fit the vehicle perfectly, yet offer a look not available through the manufacturer. Many times these spoilers are for vehicles that do not have a factory option, like many SUV's and smaller cars.

A "factory style" spoiler is a very close "knockoff" of the spoiler available on the car from the manufacturer. Wings Direct prides itself on offering the largest selection of factory style spoilers of any source.  With quality that meets the original equipment part.
Some cars may have more than one "factory style" option, based on different models.

A "universal spoiler" is not specifically designed to fit the vehicle it is designated to fit. What this means is that this spoiler was either designed to fit a multitude of vehicles or designed as the factory style for another vehicle. It has been test fit for the selected application and looks great on the vehicle.
  • How do your spoilers install?
Most of our spoilers install using one of two methods; either a stud with a nut or a phillips head screw. These all install by drilling holes in the deck lid and then run a screw up through the bottom of the deck lid. The ones with studs install by inserting the stud into the bottom of the spoiler, setting the spoiler in through the holes in the deck lid and then running a nut onto the stud.

There are a few spoilers that install using 3M "Redliner" double faced tape. These install s require no drilling for a proper installation.
  • How long does it take to paint and ship my spoiler?
If the spoiler is pre-painted and on the shelf; it will ship same day. If the order is placed before 12pm, eastern; it will ship same-day. Other orders may take up to 24hours to ship.
  • Do your spoilers come with hardware and a template?
All of our spoilers come with complete hardware packs and locator tab templates. These are not vehicle specific templates.
  • Can I just tell you what color my car is instead of giving you the paint code?
We will not take an order for a painted spoiler based on a description or name of a color. You must have the color code from the vehicle in order to place the order. This ensures that we paint the correct color for the vehicle. Many times the factory may change the color mid-year or have multiple options in one color family. We need specifics in order to get the order correct.
  • What is the warranty on your spoilers?
Al of our spoilers are covered by a limited lifetime warranty. Please visit the warranty page for more information.
  • What is the difference between your Value Line and Premium Line?
Value Line is price point fixed. This means that we will find a spoiler to fit your application at our lowest possible price, the selected spoiler may be an OE, Custom, or Universal fit. The Premium Line is based on getting an OE style fit for the vehicle. Some of the more unique fits are priced higher than our lowest price point. Our Premium Line has a floaitng price point.
  • Are all of your spoilers OE style spoilers?
Yes, and No. If you pick a spoiler from our Premium Line, then they are all OE fits. If you chose a spoiler from our Value Line, then you may receive an OE fit or a Universal fit.
  • What if my car's paint has faded or oxidized?
There is not much we can do to guarantee a color match on a vehicle that has faded or oxidized. Your best bet would be to order a primered spoiler and have a local painter paint it for you. The other option would be to send us a piece of the vehicle, such as a fuel door lid, to match to.

  • Do all of your spoilers have lights?
No. Only spoilers that have lights in the factory OE piece would have a light. You can tell whether or not a specific spoiler has a light by looking at the last digit of the part number. If it is an "L" then it has a light, if it is a "U" then there is no light.
  • What material are your spoilers made of?
Most of our spoilers are made of OE grade blow-molded plastic. This material offers incredible strength, smooth finish surface, and light weight. However, some of the newer fits are available in fiberglass initially until plastic pieces can be made. Fiberglass is heavier and more expensive than plastic, but parts can be made quickly after a new vehicle hits the streets because the molds are both cheap and quick to make.

Some of the slower moving parts may also only be available in fiberglass. Due to the low volume of sales it is hard to justify the enormous expense of a mold for plastic production.
